Prof. Dr. Mahdi Motagh has been appointed as the Associate Editor of the scientific journal "Remote Sensing of Environment". "Remote Sensing of Environment" is an international journal that contributes to the advances in the science of remote sensing for Earth observation community.
As the Associate Editor, Mahdi Motagh cooperates with Editorial Board members and reviewers to provide expert advice and review of papers submitted for publication in the Journal. He is also responsible to solicit and acquire suitable Articles for the Journal and invite colleagues of high scientific standing to contribute to the Journal. Mahdi Motagh's expertise for the journal “Remote Sensing of Environment” includes the exploitation of radar remote sensing technology for geohazards and environmental studies. Mahdi Motagh is Professor of Radar Remote Sensing at the Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation in a joint appointment between the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ, Helmholtz Centre Potsdam) and Leibniz University Hannover. At GFZ he heads the working group 'Radar and Optical Remote Sensing for the Analysis of Geohazards. He has also different editorial responsibilities in a number of international journals including journal of Geodynamics, Engineering Geology, and Journal of Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformation Science (PFG).
